Hussar was number of types of light cavalry originating in 14th century, but had its maximal development and played a prominent role as cavalry in the Napoleonic Wars (1796-1815). Most of the great European powers raised hussar regiments in this period.

These brave regiments formed by cavalrymen mounted on fast horses gain a big fame and popular recognition not only caused by their actions in the field of battle but the strong personality of these warriors, notoriously impetuos and a little unruly.

These facts, combined with the great look of their uniforms, prompted the hussar style enjoyed extraordinary popularity also among the dress uniforms designed to look good at balls and in the halls of the Court.
